Gifts of $1,000 or More
The Cincinnati Academy of Medicine Endowment for Academic Information Technology & Libraries.
By giving to the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine Endowment for AIT&L you enable us to expand the services and products we develop for the education, research, clinical, and community service missions of the Academic Health Center as defined in our Progress Reports and Strategic Plan. AIT&L supports students, faculty, and staff with exceptional library services and computer applications in their pursuit of providing the highest-quality health care, educating the next generation of health care providers, and discovering new treatments and medications.
Center for the History of the Health Professions
Your contribution to the Center for the History of the Health Professions will help to create an operating fund for the Center. The Center is a nationally and internationally recognized resource for medical history. Scholars worldwide visit the Center each year to conduct research using its rich collection of 19th century medical texts and photographs, and archives of many of Cincinnati's most famous physicians and medical researchers such as Daniel Drake and Albert B. Sabin.
Health Sciences Library Endowment
The Health Sciences Library Endowment allows the AIT&L to purchase books, journals, and electronic media in medicine, pharmacy, and allied health sciences beyond what our state funding provides for. Our collections rank among the best in the nation among academic health sciences libraries. To maintain the high quality of these collections it is critical to supplement state funds with private support.
Levi Endowment for the Nursing Collection
AIT&L has one of the best nursing collections in the country. Nurses and nursing students throughout the region use these matrials as their primary information resource. The Levi Collection Endowment allows AIT&L to purchase the nursing-related books, journals, and electronic media that make this collection outstanding.
NetWellness Endowment
NetWellness is a consumer health information service that AIT&L began in 1994. Today it is a partnership among the University of Cincinnati, Case Western Reserve University, and The Ohio State University. Health professional faculty contribute their expertise through "Ask an Expert." This makes NetWellness a high-quality, unbiased, and scientifically-based service with few peers. Forbes magazine named NetWellness one of the six "best" health web sites. The NetWellness Endowment allows AIT&L to increase the level of UC's participation as a partner by facilitating more of UC's world-class biomedical expertise.
