Checking Out Books
Locate the book in UCLID or OhioLink and follow instructions on the screen to request the book. Select Health Sciences Library or Nursing Library as the pickup location. The book will be delivered to the Health Sciences Library circulation desk (MSB E680) or to CATER Nursing College computer lab (Procter Hall 115B), either the same day or the next day if it is a Nursing library or HSL book.
If the book is requested from one of the OhioLink libraries, it will be delivered in three to five days. You will be notified when the book is available for pickup.
Electronic Books
On the AITL Homepage, on the left side bar click on eBooks and then click on Nursing eBooks at the top of the eBooks page to go to a list of Nursing electronic books from various collections. On the eBooks page you can also click on Go to Text Collections to find encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference materials, and books that cover a wide variety of medical subjects.
To access over 25,000 e-books in OhioLink, open OhioLink homepage (http://ohiolink.edu) and then on the left side bar click on Electronic Books Center.
Electronic Journals
Most articles you need are available full text online. There are several ways to find them:
1. eJournals page or Nursing eJournals (list of nursing journals compiled from the Subject search)
2. UCLID – the online catalog.
3. The “Find it” command in your article search (Cinahl, Medline, etc. Please click on Online Tutorials to find information on article searches)
If you cannot connect to the journal, or if it requires username and password, contact

Access to Bound or Current Unbound Journals.
If the article you need is not available online but is part of our print collection in a journal issue, please fill out a request form (located in the AITL homepage in the left side bar).
The article will be emailed to you in the PDF format within 24 hours. Contact Gerry Wagner (558-8389) or The Nursing Liaison (558-8378) with any questions or problems.
Education and Training
AITL and University Libraries offer monthly classes and workshops for students, staff and faculty. Please click on “Education & Training” button located on the top of the AITL homepage. Education and Training site provides you with variety of Education and Training Resources including the following links:
Off Campus Access- information about using the proxy server, UC as your Internet Service Provider and the VPN client to access electronic resources.
Calendar of Classes- classes offered monthly that include Microsoft applications, Adobe Acrobat, MEDLINE, etc.
Online Tutorials- online tutorials for MEDLINE, PowerPoint and others.
Blackboard Support Site- Includes six interactive tutorials.

Ordering New Books and Journals
If you need to order a new book to be added to collection (reserve or stacks), please contact Sharon Bressert at 558-1019 or sharon.bressert@uc.edu . Please include information about author of the book, title, year of publication, edition, ISSN number and where do you need to place the book (reserve, stacks, special collection, etc.)

The Reserve Collection is located in the circulation desk at MSB E680.
